Penn Boys Track storms to sectional crown
Penn High's Kingsmen stormed to the sectional championship scoring 154.5 points. The Kingsmen whipped archrival Mishawaka, which finished second with 126 points.
Penn boasted seven blue-ribbon winning performances, and the Kingsmen set two sectional records.
The 400 meter relay team of Joey Weller, Tim Deal, Sean Domal and Tommy Grant broke a sectional record that was set in 1983.
Penn captures seventh consecutive girls tennis sectional crown
Coach Eric Bowers' Penn Kingsmen captured their seventh consecutive sectional championship in girls tennis, shutting out Marian, 5-0.
Penn Girls Tennis smashes Mishawaka in sectional opener
Penn High's girls tennis team opened state tournament action by smashing archrival Mishawaka, 5-0. The Gold and Black attack only gave up two points the entire match.
The Kingsmen take on Marian on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. on the Kingsmen courts for the sectional championship.
Marian beat Adams, 4-1.

Penn Baseball draws Riley in sectional opener
Penn High's baseball team opens South Bend Clay sectional play on Thursday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m. against Riley. Adams plays Clay in the 5 p.m. opener.
Thursday's winners play on Monday, May 28 (Memorial Day), at 10 a.m., followed by the game between Mishawaka and Washington.
The championship game is Monday, May 29, at 7 p.m.
Grace, Pottschmidt sectional champions in track
Whitney Grace (pole vault) and Lauren Pottschmidt (3,200) captured sectional championships in the Bremen Girls Track Sectional. The top four individuals and top four relay teams advance to the Warsaw Regional, Tuesday, May 22.
Penn Rugby demolishes Dwenger, 56-0
Penn Rugby demolished Fort Wayne Dwenger, 56-0.
Dylan Heyvaert and Jake Garwood spearheaded the assault with two tries each, and one assist each.
Tyler Graham, Troy Tirotta, Andrew Katona, Alex Dorrier and Aaron Simon blasted Dwenger with one try each.
Troy Tirotta contributed two assists. Shawn Wagner, Emerson Marenyi and Mitch Graham had one assist each.
Nate Vincent powered Penn with two conversion kicks and one penalty kick, Alex Dorrier had two conversion kicks.
Penn battles Mishawaka in softball sectional
Coach Beth Zachary's Penn softball team begins defense of its sectional crown against archrival Mishawaka on Tuesday, May 22. The Kingsmen and Cavemen clash at 7 p.m. in the second semifinal game at Penn.
Sectional action opens at Penn on Monday, May 21, when Washington plays Clay at 5 p.m., followed by Adams taking on RIley at 7 p.m. Monday's winners play in the opening game on Tuesday, which is scheduled for a 5 p.m. first pitch.
Championship action is slated for 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 24.

Penn Girls Tennis captures NIC crown
Penn's girls tennis team, coached by Eric Bowers, captured the Northern Indiana Conference crown by wrapping up a perfect 8-0 conference record.
The Kingsmen smacked Elkhart Central, 5-0.
Xavier recruit Alexandra Brinker led the Penn romp with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles.
